Spartans, Stars Girls Basketball Teams Wrap Up Regular Seasons

Boys, girls basketball teams all take to the court on Friday night.

All varsity basketball teams from and took to the hardcourt on Friday night, with the Spartans and Stars girls hoopsters closing out their respective regular seasons against conference opponents.

Richfield Girls Basketball: Spartans 60, Henry Sibley 53

The clinched a second-place tie in the final Classic Suburban Confefence (CSC) standings with a 60-53 home defeat of Henry Sibley.

With an 11-3 circuit record, the Spartans tied North St. Paul—the teams split their regular-season series—for the runner-up slot in the conference behind 14-0 Hill-Murray.

led all scorers with 20 points, while teammates Hannah Wise and Katie Anderson recorded 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Richfield was awarded the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Section 6AAA playoffs with a 22-4 record and hosts No. 7 Holy Angels at 7 p.m. March 3.

Holy Angels Girls Basketball: Chaska 42, Stars 40

A 42-40 home loss to Missota Conference opponent Chaska concluded the season with a 5-21 overall record, 1-13 in circuit play.

Individual statistics were not available.

Holy Angels holds the No. 7 seed in the upcoming Section 6AAA playoffs and play at No. 2 Richfield on March 3.

Richfield Boys Basketball: Spartans 79, Henry Sibley 60

The improved to 17-8 overall and 11-4 in the Classic Suburban with a 79-60 win at Henry Sibley.

Shawn Bear tallied a game-high 26 points, while fellow Spartan Jared Noonan logged 17 points in the victory.

Richfield hosts conference front-runner Hill-Murray (14-0 in the circuit) in the regular-season finale at 7 p.m. March 1.

Holy Angels Boys Basketball: Chaska 70, Stars 55

With a 70-55 loss to Missota-leading Chaska, the Holy Angels boys basketball team fell to 5-19 overall and 1-11 in the conference.

Nick Miller led the Stars with 16 points, with Damond Woods scoring 14 points in the loss.

Holy Angels hosts Red Wing in its final pre-playoff matchup at 7:30 p.m. March 1.
