Richfield Track & Field Teams Sweep Spartans Invitational

Spartans boys, girls track and field teams both win home meet to highlight mid-week contests.

It's been yet another week plagued by postponements for Richfield and Holy Angels teams as major portions of the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday schedule was wiped out due to uncooperative weather and field conditions.

However, the Spartans track and field teams did get in a home invitational meet on Thursday and swept both boys and girls competitions.

The recorded 179.5 points to edge out Woodbury's East Ridge High School and win the Spartans Invitational at home on Thursday.

The Spartans won the 4x800- and 4x200-meter relay events, with winning the 100-meter hurdles (15.13 seconds) and long jump (17 feet, 10 inches), Hannah Olson taking first in the 3200-meter run (12 minutes, 4.74 seconds) and topping the pole vault competition (11-0).

Richfield Boys Track And Field: Spartans Roll in Home Invite

The Richfield boys track and field team decisively won the seven-team Spartan Invitational on Thursday, recording 202 points to top runner-up Hastings by 29 points.

Richfield swept all three relay events—4x200, 4x400, 4x800—with Jordan Sefon taking first in the long jump (21-0.5) 100-meter dash (11.31) and 300-meter hurdles (40.93), with Collin Randolph winning the 800-meter run (2:07.99).

Richfield Boys Golf: Spartans 15th At The Wilds

The Richfield boys golf team finished 15th at The Wilds Invitational with a score of 341. Individual results were not available.

Holy Angels Girls Lacrosse: Stars 11, Farmington 6

The earned its second win of the season with an 11-6 victory at Farmington on Thursday evening.

Individual results were not available. The Stars, now 2-4 on the year, host Visitation/St. Paul Academy on Wednesday, May 4 at 6 p.m.

Holy Angels Softball: Chanhassen 5, Stars 1

A four-run fourth inning doomed the to a 5-1 loss at Chanhassen on Thursday to drop the Stars to 3-6 overall and 2-5 in the Missota Conference.

Individual statistics were not available. Holy Angels is scheduled to host Northfield in a rescheduled game on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Holy Angels Boys Lacrosse: Edina 10, Stars 9

The fell to 4-2 on the season after a 10-9 loss at Edina on Thursday night. 

T.J. Patrias' 13 goals lead the Stars, with Bennett Courrier-Oaster netting nine goals on the spring and Matt Turner logging seven goals.

Holy Angels has the next week off before a road game at Chaska/Chanhassen on May 5.
