Richfield Runners Qualify for State Track & Field Meet
The state meet will be held June 7 at Hamline University.
Two Richfield High School athletes will make a run at the state track and field meet on Saturday, June 7.
Obsa Ali qualified for the 1600 meter run during the 3AA championship meet on May 28 and May 30. He took first place with a time of 4:17.64, beating the qualifying standard of 4:19.60. Ali also qualified for the 3200 Meter run with a first place finish and a time of 9:25.37, crossing the finish line five seconds ahead of the second place runner.
On the girls team, Chakia Hall-Watley qualified at sections in the triple jump taking second place with a jump height of 36 feet and 9.25 inches.
The state meet will be held at Hamline University.
