Richfield Meets Classic Suburban Conference Football Power St. Thomas Academy

While the Academy of Holy Angels takes on New Prague on the road.

Corban Halbur—(Richfield quarterback)

  • Junior signal caller completed 11 of 21 passes for 135 yards and two passing touchdowns. .

Devon Schilla-Robinson—(Richfield running back)

  • Junior rushed for 61 yards to lead the Spartans, who gained 150 yards as a team Sept. 1.

Anthony Baysah—(Holy Angels running back)

  • The junior ran for 93 yards and a touchdown on just eight carries for the Stars in their opener Sept. 2.

Will Pagel—(Holy Angels running back)

  • The Stars didn't throw much last Friday—junior QB Sam Keis was just 2-for-4 on the night—but that didn't stop Pagel from having a big night. He was on the receiving end of both those completions for 98 yards and a touchdown.

T.J. Patrias—(Holy Angels linebacker)

  • Led the Stars with 13 tackles against Chisago Lakes Sept. 2.
Spartans will win if ...

They can continue to get strong play from their defense. The Spartans recovered four fumbles in the season opener. Andrew Perlich, Robert Holloway, Jared Mullen and Andrew Allen made the big plays for Richfield. They won the season opener last season, but dropped their final eight games of the season.

Cadets will win if ...

They can get a balanced attack. The Cadets rushed for 199 yards and passed for 148 points in a 42-0 win over Smiley in the opener.

Stars will win if …

They can limit their mistakes and avoid turnovers on offense. The defense should be able to put up another low number against the Trojans, so if the offense can be steady a win is there for the taking.

Trojans will win if ...

They can solve Holy Angels' defense, a tall order considering they run the option, just like the Chisago Lakes team the Stars shut out last week.
