Richfield, Holy Angels Football Teams Hope to Secure Wins Friday

Spartans (1-3, 1-30 vs. Spring Lake Park Panthers (3-1, 3-1)

Stars (4-0, 3-0 Missota Conference) vs. Farmington Tigers (1-3, 1-2 Missota Conference)

Both games will begin at 7 p.m. Friday. Richfield is on the road, while Holy Angels is hosting Farmington at home for its Homecoming game.

Eric Jimson—(Richfield wide receiver)

• Scored on an 84-yard run against Henry Sibley.

Camren Dearing—(Richfield running back/wide receiver)

• Scored on a 13-yard touchdown run and a 90-yard kickoff return versus Henry Sibley.

Brandon Jones—(Spring Lake Park quarterback)

• Senior can beat you with his arm and legs as he leads the Panthers in passing and rushing.

Sam Keis—(Holy Angels quarterback)

• .

Michael Price—(Holy Angels wide receiver)

• Price had three catches for 138 yards including a pair of long touchdowns last week. The Tigers need to know where he is on every play.

Anthony Baysah—(Holy Angels wide receiver)

• Baysah led the rushing attack against Chanhassen with 120 yards and a score.

They can stop the Panthers’ strong rushing attack. Spring Lake Park has rushed the ball 143 times and thrown the ball just 24 times this season.

They can stop the big play capabilities of Richfield. The Spartans scored two touchdowns last week that were more than 80 yards.

Being battle-tested counts for anything. True, Holy Angels saw a 21-0 lead almost go up in smoke last Friday night, but the Stars ultimately got the best of both worlds: They (hopefully) learned a valuable lesson about putting teams away without having to lose, which is often a prerequisite for such a lesson.

A win might be a tall order for the Tigers, who have the misfortune of playing the Missota's top two teams in back-to-back weeks. Farmington did lead briefly against Shakopee, and the Stars' defense does have some holes, but it's going to take a flawless effort if the Tigers hope to pull off the upset.
