The fell to 1-7 on the season after being thumped, 33-7, by visiting Classic Suburban Conference opponent Simley on Wednesday night at Spartan Stadium.

The loss was Richfield's seventh in a row after the Spartans won their season opener at home against North St. Paul.

Next up for Richfield is the Section 2AAA Tournament, with first-round games scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25. Seedings and opening pairings have not yet been announced.
