Rampage Split Up at Sectional Meet
Minnesota State High School League rules that Richfield/Edina wrestling team must compete separately in postseason.
Due to a paperwork glitch, the was forced to split up into just Richfield and Edina for their brief postseason appearance at the Section 6AAA Tournament on Saturday at Hopkins High School.
"We just found out about it on Wednesday," Rampage co-head coach Josh Burhans said. "Apparently, our application for a co-op was only good for the regular season, not the postseason."
Burhans took charge of the Edina wrestlers, who held the 10th seed and were promptly defeated, 66-6, by No. 7 Robbinsdale Armstrong.

Burhans fellow co-head coach, Eric Herrmann, led contingent up against No. 8 Minneapolis Southwest and won, 48-36, before being defeated by a score of 66-15 by Eden Prairie in the second round.
"It was a big win for Richfield," Burhans said of the Spartans-only victory over the Lakers. "We also got to see a bit of Eden Prairie."

It could prove to be a valuable scouting report for several Rampage wrestlers, who could be competing against members of the Eagles at the Section 6AAA individual tournament scheduled for Feb. 25-26 at .
