is hosting the first ever GREEN golf tournament at Olympic Hills Golf Course in Eden Prairie.
While the center has been doing a golf tournament fundraiser for nearly two decades, 2011's "Birds and Birdies" tournament is the first totally green tournament in Minnesota.
While the proceeds will benefit Wood Lake Nature Center, while also helping the course get certified with Audubon International, a nonprofit organization that operates a Cooperative Sanctuary program where golf course managers learn how to reduce chemical use, encourage wildlife, conserve water and educate users on greener practices.
The deadline to register is Sept. 15, 2011. Prices range from $150-$170 for single golfers and $600-$650 for foursomes. For more information, visit Wood Lake Nature Center's website.
