In Touch with Heart Health

On May 19th, from 8 AM to 1 PM at the Richfield Community Center, the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) will host In Touch with Heart Health, an event designed to inform and inspire you to take action to prevent heart disease. The event is free and open to everyone! Screenings will provide measurements including cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood glucose levels. Plus, participants will be able to go over their results with personal health coaches.

Come and learn about managing stress, healthy eating and becoming more active through presentations by a heart disease survivor, a registered dietitian, and an exercise physiologist. You’ll also be able to try Nordic walking during the event and win prizes!

In honor of Women’s Health Week (May 13-19), this event encourages busy women to take charge of their heart health.  Heart disease is the number one killer of women, yet many are unaware that they may be at risk. In Touch with Heart Health is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of heart disease and stop its threat to every woman and man. As Kathy Pressnall, a heart disease survivor explains, “Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women, but it doesn’t have to be, it can be prevented.”
