Spartans Fans' Good Manners Praised By Local Eatery

Following a big win for the Spartans Friday, fans who dined at a local Applebee's made quite an impression.

After the Richfield defeated North St. Paul 38-20 Friday evening, some Spartans fans headed to Southtown Applebee's to eat, socialize and be merry.

While many times we hear a "kids these days" remark with a negative follow up, Richfield kids evoked the opposite from a local business.

General Manager of the Southtown Applebee's, Jay Noseworthy, praised Spartans fans in an e-mail to Athletic Director Todd Olson:

I just wanted to let you know that the Spartans were out in force tonight after a big win versus North St. Paul.

I would also like to take a moment to let you know of the behavior of the students who visited us after the game.

I have encountered a lot of high school students after events in my restaurants over the years and sometimes while celebrating and socializing, they can sometimes forget basic manners. However, the Spartans who dined with us after the game tonight were a complete pleasure to host. They were pleasant, polite, and very respectful. They represented your school with class and dignity.

Please share this with them, as I am sure that positive reinforcement of such behavior can go a long way in developing the future leaders of our society.

Thanks for partnering with us.

Looks like many Richfield kids are doing it right these days.
