Richfield School Board Candidate Zack Olson: 'We Need to Become More Independent'

Zack Olson is running for his first term as a Richfield School Board member.

Zack Olson has living in Richfield for four years and is hoping to be elected to his first term on the . He kept his answers to Richfield Patch's questions short and precise.

Richfield Patch: Why did you decide to run for the Richfield School Board?

Zack Olson: Changing landscape in politics and education is forcing change. We need to disrupt the status quo to allow success for generations to come.

Richfield Patch: What do you see as your particular qualifications for serving on the Richfield School Board?

Olson: [I have] over 20 years experience in technology ... a business-like focus on solutions ... [and] a young family navigating the new education reality.

Olson: Funding. Money is shrinking and we need to become more independent. ... Results. [We need to focus on] closing achievement gaps. ... Access. Increasing class sizes creates limited access to quality and time.

Olson: I bring a fresh, outside approach to the Richfield School District. My background and expertise in technology will help move Richfield into the 21st century.
