Richfield to Open State Tournament Against Hill-Murray

The Spartans girls basketball team is headed to state for the second year in a row.

The Richfield High School girls basketball team will begin its bid for state champions against Hill-Murray School Wednesday morning.

The Lady Spartans trounced Chaska High School 72-45 last Thursday to ensure a trip to state, as well as the section 3AAA champions title.

The team is heading to state for the second consecutive year, as well as the second time in school history. Last year, the team made it to the finals, where it fell to DeLaSalle.

The game against Hill-Murray begins at 10 a.m. at Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota. The winner of the game will advance to semi-final game, which will be held at noon Thursday at Target Center.
