Richfield Educator Up For '2012 Minnesota Teacher of the Year'

Brenda Lee Holter is among more than 100 Minnesota teachers nominated for the award.

Richfield Middle School math teacher Brenda Lee Holter is one of 111 Minnesota teachers to be nominated for Education Minnesota's Teacher of the Year Award.

According to an Education Minnesota press release, the award celebrates the tradition of excellence in teaching in Minnesota. Award candidates include pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade teachers, from public and private schools.

The 2012 Minnesota Teacher of the Year will be announced Sunday, May 6. Over the coming weeks, a panel of community leaders will name a group of semifinalists, and then finalists.
