Richfield Players Promote Teen Dating Violence Awareness With Purple Flare

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.

Once again sports teams have partnered with Cornerstone, a domestic violence prevention and intervention agency, to participate in the Taking Initiative Everyday Campaign, which aims to end dating violence. Athletes are wearing purple laces, stickers or ribbons during their games and matchups throughout February to show their support for the campaign.

TIE is being done as part of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, which runs the entire month of February. The following Richfield sports teams are participating:

  • Girls basketball;
  • Boys basketball;
  • Boys hockey;
  • Wrestling;
  • Gymnastics;
  • Cheerleading.

For more information, contact Amy Kondziolka, program manager at Cornerstone, at 952-884-0376.
