Richfield Junior Golf Team Registration Now Open

Boys and girls 10 years and older are eligible to play.

Richfield fourth- through eighth-graders interested in golf have the opportunity to learn and play beginning in April.

The 2013 Richfield Junior Golf program has opened registration for the program, which begins April 15. Children must be at least 10 years old to play.

According a release, practices will be two days a week at either Fred Richards or Braemar Golf courses. The first two weeks of the program focus on instruction, and basic golf fundamentals and skills. After the first two weeks, some will be ready for the actual course.

The program fee, along with the support of the Richfield Golf Boosters, will cover the costs of green fees and practice range balls. The cost is $25 and players can be registered at richfieldjuniorgolf.com. Make checks payable to "Richfield Golf Boosters."

The program can provide golf clubs for beginners, or players can bring their own. However, players are responsible for their own transportation to and from the course. According to the release, the program coordinators and coaches will help in creating carpools once practices begin.
