Richfield/Edina Rampage Qualify Two for State Tournament

Richfield participated in the section 5AA team tournament on Friday, February 15th and finished 1-1 on the day. Richfield beat Minneapolis Edison 45-21 and lost to the eventual runner-up, Monticello 67-12.
Edina participated in the section 2AAA team tournament on Thursday, February 14th and lost to Chanhassen 27-51.

Richfield participated in the section 5AA individual tournament on Friday and Saturday, February 22nd and 23rd. The tournament was highlighted by two state tournament qualifiers, Christian Wellens (Richfield, gr. 10, 138) and Chandler Arredondo (Richfield, gr. 12, 195). Both wrestlers placed 2nd in their weight class to qualify. This is Arredondo's third time qualifying for the state tournament. This is Wellen's first time qualifying for the state tournament. Both wrestlers will be in action at the state tournament at approximately 9:00 am, Friday, march 1st at the Xcel Energy Center. Other wrestlers placing at the section tournament include: Patrick Vogt (Richfield, gr. 8, 106) placed 4th, Obsa Ali (Richfield, gr. 11, 113) placed 3rd, Justin Swetala (Richfield, gr. 11, 120) placed 5th, Alex Abramson (Richfield, gr. 10, 152) placed 5th, Otto Erilinna (Richfield, gr. 11, hwt.) placed 4th.

Edina participated in the section 2AAA individual tournament on Friday and Saturday, February 22nd and 23rd. Two athletes had a good performance and finished 6th: Shane Walfoort (Edina, gr. 12, 170) and Alex Beyerl (Edina, gr. 11, 220).
