Richfield Blessed Trinity 8th Graders Graduate

Blessed Trinity Catholic School eighth graders are now a summer away from their first year of high school.

Richfield's celebrated the graduation of its eighth-grade class Monday night at St. Peter's Catholic Church.

The ceremony began with a mass given by all three pastors from the affiliated churches: Father Tony VanderLoop of the , Father Tom Krenik of and Father Charles McCarthy of the .

McCarthy delivered a homily that told the kids that their teachers have taught them how to learn—something that is a life long journey, according to Melissa Cavanaugh, communications coordinator for the school. Eighth-grade graduate Mivi Nguyen followed by singing a solo of “Ava Maria.”

Once mass ended, all graduates received their diplomas from Principal Sue Kerr and the three fathers. A reception was held in the basement and the graduates enjoyed a dance party in St. Peter’s gym. However, the school year officially ended with the students making a trip to Valley Fair Tuesday.

Congratulations to all eighth-grade graduates. Good luck in your feature endeavors.
