PHOTOS: Students Have a 'Fun Day' at Richfield's Sheridan Hills Elementary
The heat and humidity were both on, but so was the fun as students got to enjoy Fun Day at Sheridan Hills Elementary in Richfield Friday afternoon.
Each year at this time, the teachers and many parent volunteers all pitch in to bring Fun Day to life. For the students at in Richfield, it's a chance to participate in dozens of non-competitive events.
Kids climb slides, which is the only time in the school year it's allowed, and even get soaked by a water canon slinging principal. Each event a student completed earned them a punch on their card. Once a student reached 20 punches they earned a button. Â
While the heat and humidity were high, the rain sprinkles that came down were a welcome relief, but that was short lived. Students flocked to the water events to keep cool and parent volunteers walked around with squirt bottles making sure everyone stayed cool.
