With every Minnesota House and Senate seat up for re-election this November, the State Capitol was without a doubt a busy spot the last couple weeks as legislative incumbents and hopefuls filed for candidacy.

The recent legislative redistricting split Richfield between two districts: Everything north and east of 73rd Street and Lyndale Avenue falls into Senate District 63, leaving the majority of Richfield in Senate District 50. The number of House districts (two) remained the same.
