No. 5: Lyndale Garden Center Kicks Off Multiple Richfield Redevelopment Projects

With The Cornerstone Group's announcement to revamp the vacant Lyndale Garden Center spot in mid-March 2011, multiple redevelopment projects around town seem to have found their legs as well this year.

Lyndale Garden Center

Currently, plans stand to rehabilitate the existing building, which will hopefully include a co-op grocer, other retail and common space. The city and Carey hope this will re-create a downtown Richfield.

Kmart

Just three weeks after the Lyndale Garden Center plans were revealed to the city council, Wellington Management Inc. also presented its .

and two other retail and restaurant ready buildings will begin being built in 2012. Site prep began in late Fall 2011.

CVS

To some criticism by local residents, . Orginal plans indicated that the building would be done by New Year's 2012, however their is still much work to be done.

Menards

announced it had purchased the neighboring in March 2011 and had .

, which sits behind the store now, Menards received all required approvals to begin closing up the existing store and moving forward with development plans in mid-December 2011. Menards has not yet released a start date for the demolition and rebuild.

Lyndale Plaza

The former is no more. after nearly three years of preparation. The site is expected to be completed by Fall 2012.
