Lyndale Gardens Special Work Session Tonight

Redevelopment of the former Lyndale Garden Center site will be discussed prior to Tuesday's regular Richfield City Council meeting.

A special work session will be held by the Richfield City Council, Richfield Planning Commission and Richfield Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday night in the Bartholomew Conference Room at city hall to discuss proposed development plans for Lyndale Gardens.

Formerly home to the , the property has been vacant since 2006. Colleen Carey, president of The Cornerstone Group, will present an updated concept for a phased redevelopment of the site. The meeting does not include scheduled time for public comments.

“They’re presenting the site plan for whole area, though it’s not the finalized form,” said Richfield Community Development’s Karen Barton.

After receiving feedback from city officials during tonight's work session, the developer is next expected to submit final plans to the planning commission for approval. Construction is expected to begin this summer.

The city council will also hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. in its council chambers.
