UPDATED: Columnist Says Bachmann 'Is Right' About Ellison's Ties to Muslim Brotherhood

Fifth District Republican candidate Chris Fields also weighs in on the Bachmann/Ellison feud.

with the Muslim Brotherhood last week, a recent column in FrontPageMag.com alleges Bachmann's claims are true.

*FrontPageMag.com is edited by David Horowitz, director of the conservative organization Freedom Center. In the past, critics have accused Horowitz of promoting fear of an Islamic takeover. The column reads:

"As long ago as 2006, Ellison’s closeness to Nihad Awad, co-founder of Hamas-linked CAIR, was a matter of public record," the article says. "Awad, who notoriously said in 1994 that he was 'in support of the Hamas movement,' spoke at fundraisers for Ellison, raising considerable sums for his first Congressional race. According to investigative journalist Patrick Poole, Ellison has appeared frequently at CAIR events since then, despite the fact that CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department."

Among other things, the column also says that in 2008 Ellison accepted $13,350 in funding from the Muslim American Society. The authors cites a 2004 Chicago Tribune story that states the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the Muslim American Society name in recent years.

At the end of the article, it's author Robert Spencer, the director of Jihad Watch and author of several books, calls for Ellison's alleged connection to be investigated and for conservatives to stand up for Bachmann.

Ellison traded blows all last week with Bachmann, not only about his own alleged involvement, but her claim that the .

Chris Fields Weighs In On Ellison/Bachmann "Feud"

While reluctant to weigh in on the ongoing debate between Ellison and Bachmann, Ellison challenger that last week's arguments were proof that Ellison is "incapable" of focusing on his constituents and creating solutions:

"Once again we have witnessed Keith Ellison engage in a bitter fight over an issue that is of no significance in the daily lives of the constituents of the Fifth Congressional District.

"This week’s very public back-and-forth with Representative Bachmann is yet more proof that Keith Ellison is incapable of focusing and delivering solutions. He has failed to focus on the fact that Minneapolis is home to the largest achievement and unemployment gaps between black and white constituents in the entire country. Instead of working to solve these issues, Keith is engaged in yet another high profile attention-seeking fight."

I would love to see Dunn Brother's come back. The parking is the major problem. But I hope theyRead More don't utilize the idea to eliminate lanes on Lyndale. It is already like driving behind a funeral procession - often as slow as 15-20 miles an hour. It is so annoying.

The fact that the parking lot is hidden makes it appear as though there is little parking, and IRead More think that hurts business there. I think Dunn bros would be awesome but the store is too small for them... The bean roaster would take up 1/2 the store...

That's good advice. Also keep in mind that your reactions to the event probably won't be imitatedRead More while your children are young. But as they grow older, they'll subconsciously remember your reactions and that will greatly influence how they respond to these situations in adulthood. So if you're someone who started swearing at the TV about Muslim terrorists, or you wept for the victims, or you prayed for the souls of the perpetrators, you should expect your reaction to ultimately have far more influence on your child than the discussions mentioned in this article.

Exactly, Chris Mau!!! Kids live what they learn at home. If we treat kids with respect, as well asRead More how we present the facts of life, kids will grow to become empathetic, meaning, they will care and have compassion for the world around them. If they see us cussing out different races, creeds and colors or origins, they will grow up mean, spiteful and cynical. It's all up to US adults people...who's willing to step to the plate and be that example? These children, they are our future....how they grow depends on us.
