City Task Force Presents Housing Vision Statement

The group's conclusions will be used to steer future developers.

Earlier this week, a citizen task force appointed to help give the city a chart for navigating future affordable housing issues presented its results to the City Council, according to the Sun Current.

The group was charged with writing a "vision statement" for how the city will deal with affordable housing issues in the future.

The statement reads: “Richfield is a sustainable community that is known for its strong, vibrant and eclectic, amenity-rich neighborhoods supported by a full range and balance of housing types that match the choices of its diverse residents at every stage of their lives.”

The task force also drafted a series of goals for how to approach housing issues. The council will use the group's conclusions to write an official housing policy that developers can use in the future.

Read the rest—including how the task force arrived at its recommendations—on the Sun Current.
