City Invites Residents to Hear Presentation for Bicycle Master Plan

City staff and residents have been working for months to come up with a plan for future bike routes throughout the city.

A Public Open House has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. in the Bartholomew Conference Room at to present the city’s draft Bicycle Master Plan. The open house will give the public an opportunity to view a presentation outlining the plan and provide comments.

The City of Richfield, with significant involvement of residents serving on the , has completed a draft version of a Bicycle Master Plan. The overall purpose of the Bicycle Master Plan is to guide Richfield in the planning of current and future non-motorized vehicle transportation facilities, and to meet the demand of citizens. The plan will now enter a public comment phase with those who wish to make comments having until April 20 to do so. Comments received will be documented and considered for possible plan revisions. The plan is tentatively scheduled for city council consideration in May.
