Another Snowy Friday for Richfield, State

Friday and Saturday snowfall will send Richfield Public Works crews out in the cold again.

The National Weather Service is forecasting heaping piles of snow for Richfield and many parts of the state both Friday and Saturday, with nine to 17 inches predicted between the two days.

is planning for at least seven inches to fall within Richfield's borders Friday and crews will begin plowing streets at 5 a.m. Saturday, according Chris Link, director of the Streets and Forestry Department.

Once two or more inches have fallen the city snow ordinance goes into effect and on-street parking is prohibited. Police can begin ticketing any time and may even tow cars.

Link also said more plowing will need to be done after Saturday's snowfall, but no plans have been set in motion yet.
