Woman Threatens Victim By Putting Lit Cigarette in Gas Tank: Police Blotter

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's crime reports from March 7, 2013, detailing incidents from March 3-6.

March 3

  • A 26-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for fourth-degree DUI. Once at the Richfield police station, the man's blood alcohol content tested at .13. He was released with a court date.
  • Police responded to a report of a protection order violation on the 6900 block of Cedar Avenue.
  • A victim reported that he vehicle had been damaged on the 7600 block of Knox Avenue. The amount of damage is estimated at $800.
  • Super America, 826 W. 66th St., reported a gas theft of $40.
  • Police responded to a report of an unknown person entering a victim's car without permission. The suspect was located and cited.

March 4

  • Police responded to a burglary on the 7500 block of 18th Avenue. Items valued at a total of $800 were reported stolen.
  • A juvenile was cited for tobacco possession by a minor.
  • A Richfield High School student was cited for drug paraphernalia possession.
  • A 41-year-old St. Paul woman was arrested for assault and arson after police responded to a disturbance on the 6900 block of Cedar Avenue. Police received a report that a woman was outside a residence, and possibly armed with a knife. When police arrived the female was located and police found she had threatened to kill the victim and burn his vehicle parked in the driveway. She had placed a lit cigarette in his gas tank. She was arrested and taken to jail.

March 5

  • Police responded to a stabbing near 66th Street and Nicollet Avenue. The suspect was located and arrested.

  • A vehicle that was parked on the 6800 block of 17th Avenue was reported stolen.
  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance between a mother and a son on the 400 block of 73rd Street East. The mother was slightly injured.
  •  Officers were dispatched ot the 1300 block of 78th Street East on a report of harassing phone calls from an ex-boyfriend.

March 6

  • Two items that were delivered and left outside an apartment were reported stolen.
  • Police responded to a possible fight on the 400 block of 73rd Street East. After police encountered an individual, he was trespassed from the property. Officers then observed him returning to the property and he was ultimately arrested.
  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the 7500 block of Harriet Avenue. Officers made contact with a male who was later arrested.
  • Police were assisting Hennepin County Probation on a visit to an apartment complex on the 7100 block of Cedar. A strong odor of marijuana was discovered coming from one of the apartments. The party was warned.
