UPDATE: Victim of Richfield Shooting Survives Shot to Head, Abdomen

The suspect arrested last week in connection with the incident has been officially charged.

A Bloomington man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder after allegedly shooting a man three times, including once in the head on Jan. 3, 2013 in Richfield.

Anthony Terrell Jenkins, 20, was taken into custody in connection with the shooting on Jan. 8 and was officially charged soon after, according to the Richfield Sun Current. The charge carries with it a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

As previously reported by Patch, Police responded to a report of a shooting on the 30 block of 78th Street West at 9:48 p.m. on Jan. 3. However, after receiving additional calls, the male shooting victim was located at Super America, 7720 Nicollet Ave. S.

When police arrived at the gas station they found the victim being tended to by another man who said he was present at the time of the shooting, the Sun Current reported. The victim was shot three times; in the head, abdomen and back-left shoulder. He was transported to HCMC in stable condition that evening and reportedly told medical staff that he may have been shot with a .22-caliber handgun.

The name and age of the victim has not been released, nor has information on his current condition.
