Trailer Home Damaged By Youngsters; Multiple Protection Orders Violated: Police Blotter

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's Incident and Arrest reports from Oct. 1, 2012, detailing incidents from Sept. 27 through Sept. 30.

Sept. 27

  • A man reported $200 worth of property damge done to his trailer home after he said he heard a loud crash on the south end. The man reportedly heard two juveniles laughing and then observed two light-skinned, black teenagers run eastbound from the area. The suspects were not located, however, a water bottle was found and believed to have been used to break a window.
  • Police received a forgery report from the Bloomington Police Department.
  • A woman reported her husband, whom she has a protection order against, had attempted to contact her. Officers could not find the protection order on file.
  • A victim reported that her social security card had been taken and used to file taxes and obtain her unemployment check.
  • A window was shot with a BB gun on the 700 block of 77th Street East. The damage to the window was estimated at $500.
  • An unknown Hispanic female shoplifted approximately $309 worth of merchandise from CVS Pharmacy and fled on foot to a waiting vehicle.
  • A vehicle parked on near the intersection of 78th Street East and Chicago Avenue was shot with a BB gun.

  • A victim reported that she made an electronic payment to another state when attempting to purchase a vehicle. The vehicle was never delivered. The woman sent $1,800 for the purchase.
  • Officers took a report of a restraining order violation in the department lobby.
  • A 50-year-old Richfield woman was cited for passing a school business when lights were flashing.

Sept. 29

  • Officers took a report of a restraining order violation in the department lobby.
  • A 19-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for fourth-degree DWI after a single car accident in the HUB Center parking lot.
  • A 20-year-old Richfield man was arrested for violating a protection order and taken to jail.
  • Officer responded to a report of a violation of a restraining order by phone on the 7000 block of 5th Avenue. The suspect was not contacted.
