Teenager Crashes Vehicle into Front Yard of a Pleasant Avenue Home

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

Editor's Note: The following information was taken from the 's Crime Reports from Jan. 3, 2012, detailing incidents from Dec. 29-31, 2011.

While the latest Richfield Public Safety crime reports show a low number of incidents over a big holiday weekend, for one teenager, the New Year's Eve holiday began in handcuffs.

A 19-year-old Richfield man was charged with DUI after he allegedly crashed his car into the front yard of a home at 7501 Pleasant Ave. S. on Dec. 30. His blood alcohol content was reportedly measured at .24; the legal limit is .08.

Other incidents included:

A 19-year-old Minneapolis woman was charged with underage drinking and giving a false name to an officer Dec. 29.

A 25-year-old Richfield man was charged with trespassing after refusing to leave a property on Dec. 29.

A woman reported that she had been swindled by a party online Dec. 29.

A woman reported that her identity had been stolen after an unknown party stole her purse in October 2011 and attempted to open accounts in her name and cash checks from her closed account. The report was taken Dec. 29.

Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at the convenience store on Cedar Avenue Dec. 30. The suspects were gone when police arrived.

Four juveniles were transported to Fairview Southdale Hospital after allegedly passing out as the result of alcohol consumption Dec, 31. One of the juveniles was cited.
