Stolen Fur, Stubborn Panhandler & Laundry Room Break-Ins: Police Blotter

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's crime reports from April 25, 2013, detailing incidents from April 22-24.

April 22

  • A driver was cited for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession.
  • Two young males reportedly entered a business on the 2900 block of 66th Street West and stole some items. The total loss was unknown.
  • Police responded to a report of threats on the 90 block of 66th Street West.
  • A victim reported that a credit card had been used fraudulently.
  • Officers responded to a business on the 700 block of 66th Street West on a complaint of a panhandler in the area. The male subject was asked several times to leave by employees. He refused to leave and police were called. The male was cited for trespassing and told to leave.
  • Officers responded to a shoplifter in custody at Target. The party was cited, trespassed and released.
  • An officer took a report of a female receiving sexually explicit text messages from a number she didn't recognize. She was uncertain if it was actually her ex-boyfriend.

April 23

  • Police took a report of three laundry room break-ins at an apartment complex on the 2700 block of 66th Street West. Roughly $500 was taken from washers and dryers, and $1,500 in damage was done.
  • A victim reported that his cell phone and wallet were stolen when his car was broken into.
  • An SEC School student was cited for disorderly conduct after he refused to leave and began throwing chairs.
  • A fur coat worth $2,200 was reported stolen from a vehicle that was parked on the 6400 block of Lyndale Avenue.
  • Police took a report of a possible burglary at a home on the 7200 block of Chicago Avenue. However, it is possible that an associate of the reporting party took the items without permission.
  • Police responded to a report of threats that had been made the previous week.
  • Police responded to a theft report on the 100 block of 66th Street West. The suspects were located and cited for theft.
  • Graffiti was found on two light posts near Augsburg Park Library.
  • Police responded to a property damage report on the 2100 block of 66th Street West. A fence was damaged.

April 24

  • Police responded to a domestic assault report on the 7400 block of Penn Avenue.
  • Drug paraphernalia was found on a Richfield High School student.
  • A wallet was reported stolen from 6 E. 66th St. The total loss was $35.
  • Police took a report of a stolen debit card. The victim believes it could be her ex-boyfriend who took the card.
  • A Richfield High School student was located with drug paraphernalia and issued a citation.
  • Officer took a report of suspected check forgery. The suspect is a former roommate of the victim.
  • Officer took a report of graffiti on the 7600 block of 4th Avenue.
  • Officers responded to a report of a suicidal female on the 6500 block of Lyndale Avenue. Officers arrived and located th female. The female was arrested for narcotics.
