Speeding Driver Crashes, Indecent Exposure & Bathroom Robbery: Police Blotter

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's crime reports from April 29, 2013, detailing incidents from April 25-27.

April 25

  • Police responded to a protection order violation report at Caribou Coffee on the 1700 block of 66th Street East.
  • A victim made an identity theft report.
  • Two credit cards and $100 in cash were reported stolen.
  • Police responded to a shoplifting report on the 6500 block of Richfield Parkway. The suspect stole a pair of shoes valued at $80. The suspect was not located.
  • A victim reported that an unknown person entered his residence on the 300 block of 64th Street West and damaged $1,795 worth of property, and stole $5,045 worth of items.
  • A 21-year-old Minneapolis woman was arrested for marijuana possession after fleeing police and crashing her car near 76th Street and Lyndale Avenue. Police had stopped the vehicle for traveling faster than a posted speed limit sign before the vehicle fled. (See more on the incident here.)

April 26

  • A juvenile was cited for tobacco possession by a minor.
  • Police responded to a report of an assault on the 7400 block of Penn Avenue. The suspect was not located.
  • A robbery that occurred two days prior was reported.
  • A Richfield High School student was cited for tobacco possession.
  • As officers were checking the 7600 block of Cedar Avenue, two adults were arrested on outstanding warrants.
  • An adult male was taken into custody for indecent exposure to a minor. The incident occurred near 62nd Street West and Xerxes Avenue.
  • An adult male was arrested for taking a pair of $20 sunglasses from a business on the 10 block of 66th Street West.
  • A vehicle was reported stolen from the 7700 block of Wentworth Avenue. The suspect was not located.
  • A bottle of water was reported stolen from Super America, 826 W. 66th St.

April 27

  • A stop sign was found knocked over at the intersection of 12th Avenue and 74th Street East.
  • A vehicle passenger was arrested for violating a domestic abuse order.
  • A driver was cited for marijuana possession and driving after suspension.
  • An adult male was cited for marijuana possession.
  • Police responded to a report of a disturbance near 66th Street East and Nicollet Avenue. A male was located and cited for disorderly conduct.
  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the 1300 block of 78th Street East. An adult male was arrested.
  • Police responded to a report of threats on the 300 block of 76th Street West. The suspect was subsequently cited for disorderly conduct.
  • A 24-year-old Bloomington man was arrested for fourth-degree DWI.
  • A driver was arrested for driving without insurance and drug paraphernalia possession.
  • Police responded to a report of a fraudulent check written for items at Menards.
  • Police responded to a report of a fight in progress. The adult suspect was arrested when police arrived.
  • Police responded to a robbery report at a restaurant on the 6600 block of Lyndale Avenue. When police arrived it was determined that an employee was assaulted in the bathroom of the restaurant with a black handgun. The suspect was not located. $200 was taken from the victim.
