Richfield Man Fails to Register as Sex Offender

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the 's Crime Reports from Oct. 31, 2011, detailing incidents from Oct. 27-29.

A convicted sex offender living in Richfield allegedly failed to register his address with the city, which is required by law. He was located Oct. 27 and charges are pending.

A Richfield woman reported she had been receiving unwanted phone calls and text messages from an acquaintance Oct. 27.

Two Richfield High School students were found smoking off campus Oct. 27. One was of legal age, while the other was cited for underage smoking.

A Richfield woman reported that she believed her brother and sister were involved in a theft from a safety deposit box in November 2008 on Oct. 27. She didn't report the incident earlier because she thought she could resolve the issue, but has not been able to do so.

A woman reported that an unknown person had gained access to her debit card and made two unathorized purchases totaling more than $500.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the 6800 block of 13th Avenue Oct. 27.

A 23-year-old Richfield man was charged with disorderly conduct Oct. 28.

A motor vehicle along with various personal items that were inside were reported stolen Oct. 28.

An unknown male burglar entered a home on the 7400 block of 5th Avenue by force and allegedly stole $7,000 in cash, three rings and an iPod Touch Oct. 28.

A pair of women's boots were reported stolen from Oct. 28 by a black male suspect. The van used in the escape was indentified, along with another suspect.

Three other various thefts were reported on Oct. 28.

Two individuals reported that a known suspect damaged both of their vehicles Oct. 28. The suspect was contacted and admitted to damaging the vehicles. A formal complaint will be filed.

A 37-year-old Minneapolis woman was charged with DUI Oct. 29.

A 34-year-old Richfield man was charged with domestic assault Oct. 29.

A woman reported being sexually assaulted near 69th Street and Portland Avenue Oct. 29.
