Richfield Police Blotter: Assaults Pop-Up Throughout the City

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Incident and Arrest Reports from Aug. 1, detailing incidents from July 28-30.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 820 65th St. W. on July 28. The suspects were gone when the officers arrived and two people had to be taken to the hospital.

This comes just 10 days after the in an apartment complex. The incidents are not related.

In addition, a man came in to the Richfield Public Safety Department office at Richfield City Hall July 29 to report that three individuals assaulted him the night before. He said the three suspects asked him to buy them alcohol from the Richfield Liquor Store on 64th Street and Lyndale Avenue and when he said he didn’t have money he was assaulted.

Police are investigating a theft from a shop on the 10 block of 66th Street West on July 28.

Police are investigating an incident in which a Richfield resident was swindled out of more than $500 by a party claiming that the victim had been granted $7,000 by the federal government.

Police are investigating a property damage incident that occurred July 28.

Police responded to a report of obscene and harassing phone calls July 28.

Police are investigating a bicycle theft that occurred on the 6700 block of Emerson Avenue July 29.

Police are investigating a theft from a vehicle incident from July 29. A Sirius radio valued at $150, a Garmin GPS and a CD player were among the items taken.

Police are investigating two other thefts from vehicle incidents from July 29.

An adult was charged with shoplifting July 29.

Police responded to a report of terroristic threats by phone July 29.

Police are investigating a fraud incident that occurred July 29.

Police responded to a domestic assault call July 29. The two parties were found to be mutual combatants, with the male suspect being uncooperative.

Police are investigating a burglary that occurred on the 2900 block of Washburn Circle July 29.

A 35-year-old Richfield resident was charged with DUI, speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign to enter a highway and fleeing police July 30.

A juvenile was cited for possession of a dangerous weapon and drug paraphernalia July 30.

An adult was charged with assault after biting a female victims lip in a scuffle July 30.

Police responded to a report of a burglary on the 7000 block of Harriet Avenue July 30.

Another bicycle was reported stolen in the neighborhood in and around the 1100 block of 66th Street West July 30.

Police are investigating a fraud incident from July 30.

Police investigated two thefts from vehicle incidents July 30.

An adult was charged with assault July 30.

A 20-year-old Minneapolis man was charged with fleeing police, underage liquor consumption and possession of drug paraphernalia July 30.
