Richfield Police Assist County Task Force in Finding 268 Pounds of Marijuana

The Hennepin County Violent Offenders Task Force includes agents and officers from multiple area law enforcement agencies, including Richfield.

On March 27, 2012 investigators from the Hennepin County Violent Offender Task Force executed three search warrants at a residence on the 3200 block of 74th Avenue North in the city of Brooklyn Park, on the 3300 block of 13th Avenue South in the city of Minneapolis and a storage locker on the 2500 block of 5th Street NE in the city of Minneapolis.

As a result, investigators arrested Mariano Saturnino-Reyes and Ramiro Trevizo-Frias after 268 pounds of marijuana, three handguns and a ballistic vest were recovered. Saturnino-Reyes has been charged with first degree controlled substance possession and Trevizo-Frias has been charged with first degree controlled substance possession and commission of a crime while wearing or possessing a ballistic vest.

“Our multi-agency task force works extremely hard to eliminate criminal activity like this in Hennepin County,” said Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek. “This is another example of how the hard work that results from these partnerships contributes significantly to the reduction of violent crime in Hennepin County.

The Hennepin County Violent Offender Task Force includes officers, agents and deputies from the Golden Valley, Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center and s, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.
