Richfield Man Faces Felony for Minnetonka Burglary

Michael Thomas Kervina allegedly burglarized a home, taking multiple items and cash.

Michael Thomas Kervina, 20, is being charged with felony burglary after a stolen iPad was tracked to his Richfield address.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim reported that sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 12, 2011 an unknown suspect had entered his Minnetonka home and took two laptop computers, a Samsung HD TV, a Play Station 3, several PS3 games and an Apple iPad.

After contacting Apple, the homeowner learned that the iPad had a built in GPS and that it was stationary at 6733 Chicago Ave. S. in Richfield. A search warrant was prepared by and when Police entered Kervina's home he was found holding it. The complaint goes on to say that all the items but one were found at the home—with the stolen TV already hooked up.

Kervina admitted to committing the burglary to Police during questioning, telling them that he entered the home through a rear sliding-glass door that was cracked open.

Kervina faces up to 10 years in prision and/or up to a $20,000 fine. As of Sept. 14, he was still in custody with a bail set at $40,000.
