Richfield Kids All Smiles as They Team up with Local Heroes

The annual event, which was once dubbed "Shop with a Cop," is in its fifth year and has been named the Heroes & Helpers event.

Watching the members of the Richfield Police Department work with small kids last week at Target, one would never know they have one of the toughest jobs in the neighborhood.

Local cops and public safety workers teamed up with local kids to shop for families around Richfield last Wednesday for the fifth installment of “Heroes and Helpers,” formerly known as “Shop with a Cop.”

According to a Richfield Public Safety Department release, the event aims to promote a strong community relationship between citizens and public safety officials. The event pairs children and in-need families with police officers as they take a stroll through Richfield's Target store picking out gifts for participants and their families.
