PHOTOS: Richfield Teens Learn the Ropes at Police, Fire Department

The Richfield Public Safety and Fire departments welcomed 48 Richfield youth to it's annual Teen Police Academy last Friday.

Members of the Police Multicultural Advisory Committee, Richfield Middle School and STARS students helped plan this year's event. The 48 attendees were able to see inside the police, dispatch, crime scene investigation and fire facilities at Richfield City Hall and Municipal Center. In addition, there was a K-9 demonstration and relays with fire department equipment were held.

Throughout the event the there were prize drawings for items from a variety of local sponsors, including: Burger King, Caribou Coffee, China Garden, Chipotle Mexican Grill, City Nails, Dairy Queen (Lyndale Ave), Great Clips at Cedar Commons, Impressions Salon, Noodles & Company, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Richfield Recreation, Shops at Lyndale Subway, Terry Ahlstrom/Edina Realty, and Viridiana's Bakery.
