Officer-Involved Shooting in Richfield; Police Investigating

Kare 11 is reporting police responded to a report of an emotionally disturbed man and a possible hostage situation just after 9 a.m. Friday.

Richfield Police are currenly investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Friday morning.

According to Kare11, police were called to a home on the 6600 block of Park Avenue just after 9 a.m. on a report of an emotionally disturbed man and a possible hostage situation. An officer did discharge his or her weapon and authorities are now investigating.

According to the Police Clips Facebook page, police have not confirmed whether the shooting was deadly. Police Clips also reported the Bloomington Police Department is handling calls for Richfield, however, Patch has not been able to independently confirm that.

A police chaplain has recently arrived on the scene, according to Fox Twin Cities.
