Narcotics, Shoplifting & Kicking in Doors: Police Blotter
The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.
All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's crime reports from April 22, 2013, detailing incidents from April 18-21.
April 18
- A 32-year-old man was arrested for DWI and failing to register as a sex offender after police stopped him near 64th Street West and Wentworth Avenue.
- Police responded to a report of a suspicious male kicking at the concession building at a Lincoln Field. He was cited for drug paraphernalia possession.
- Police responded to a report of narcotic activity on the 6400 block of Lyndale Avenue. Two adults were cited for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession.
- Police took a report of an identity theft involving the use of the victim's social security number.
- Police responded to a report of suspicious males who left the 7500 block of Lyndale Avenue in a minivan. The car was found to be stolen.
- Police responded to a report of two males attempting to kick in the front door of a home on the 6600 block of Park Avenue. They were not successful at gaining entry and fled when the reporting party approached the window.
April 19

- Police responded to an alarm on the 1400 block of 66th Street East. When police arrived officers found there had been forced entry to the building. The target appeared to be the pull tab area.
- Police responded to a burglary report on the 6300 block of Stevens Avenue. The crime lab processed the scene; there are no suspects.
- A victim reported that a person known to her took $40 of cash out of her hand and ran off. The incident happened on April 5.
- A victim reported waking up at an address on the 6300 block of Dupont Avenue unaware of where she was. The person she had gone there with was gone and had taken her cell phone, ID and credit card.
- An iPod Touch was reported stolen from a substitute teacher at Richfield High School.
April 20
- A 20-year-old New Hope man was arrested for third-degree DWI.
- Police responded to a noise complaint on the 6300 block of Lyndale Avenue. The apartment leasee was cited for a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
- Police responded to a report of an engagement ring theft on the 2900 block of 66th Street West. The victim accidently left the ring in a tanning booth at Palm Beach Tan.
- Police responded to a report of a counterfeit bill at Burger King. The bill was taken as evidence.
- Police responded to a report of a disturbance in a vehicle on the 7200 block of Cedar Avenue. The occupants were found to be in possession of narcotics, were arrested and taken to Hennepin County Jail.
- A vehicle was stopped in a parking lot on the 60 block of 78th Street West. Two occupants were cited for marijuana possession.
April 21

- Graffiti was fund bearing an obscene message at 6 E. 66th St.
- A victim reported that unknown persons attempted to remove headlights from their vehicle. However, the suspect may have been interrupted as the lights wires were cut and the light was left on the ground.
- Police responded to Target on a report of a shoplifter in custody.
- Police responded to a report of a theft on the 6500 block of Lyndale Avenue. A victim reported that cash and two credit cards were stolen, with numerous transactions totaling more than $1,000 on the credit card.
- Police responded to a theft at Target. A female suspect was cited and trespassed for misdemeanor theft.
- A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle pared on the 7700 block of Pillsbury Avenue.
- Police responded to a shoplifting on the 2900 block of 66th Street West. The suspect stole multiple clothing items and was not located.
