Medical Examiner Identifies Pedestrian Killed in Richfield Sunday

A 25-year-old woman was driving the car that hit the two men, who were not in a crosswalk area when they entered the street.

The name of the pedestrian who died after being struck by a car Sunday in Richfield has been identified

Michael John Lindholm, 63, died of multiple blunt force injuries after being struck on 64th Street and Portland Avenue Sunday evening, according to a Hennepin County Medical Examiner report. Lindholm was a Richfield resident.

As previously reported by Richfield Patch, a 55-year-old Richfield man was also struck by the car, which is owned by a 25-year-old female. Lindholm was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 55-year-old was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. As of early Monday morning the man was in “critical but semi-stable condition at HCMC,” according to police.

The vehicle was traveling southbound on Portland Avenue from 64th Street in the right-hand lane, police said. The driver struck the two while they were crossing Portland. The pedestrians were not in a crosswalk.
