UPDATED: Fridley Man Struck and Killed on I-35W in Richfield

The man was reportedly checking a blown semi-truck tire.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a Fridley man was killed in Richfield on Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Interstate 35W near 66th Street. The accident happened around 7:02 p.m., according to a WCCO.com report.

State Patrol identified the man as Hamed E. Nahi Alsaady, 51, a truck driver of Fridley.

According to the Pioneer Press, Alsaddy was on the right shoulder of southbound I-35W looking at the tire when an oncoming Dodge Stratus drifted to the right and struck the truck and the driver. The car's driver was identified as Joselyn L. Racine, 21, of St. Paul. She was reported as suffering minor injuries in the crash.
