Police Report: Intoxicated Man Slams Head Against Squad Car Glass in Protest

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's crime reports from March 14, 2013, detailing incidents from March 10-13.

March 10

  • A 23-year-old Hopkins woman was arrestd for fourth-degree DUI.
  • Police responded to a disturbance on the 1200 block of 78th Street East. An intoxicated person became upset and did not want to go to detox. The subject began slamming his head against the squad car Plexiglass. He was taken to HCMC by ambulance.
  • Police responded to a shoplifting incident at Target. An adult male was cited for stealing $305 worth of items.

March 11

  • Police responded to a report of a suspicious person on the 6400 block of Pleasant Avenue. Police found the party was trespassing on the property and cited the individual.
  • Police took a property damage report on the 6500 block of Nicollet Avenue. The loss was estimated at $400.
  • Police responded to a fraud report on the 7600 block of Pleasant Avenue. A victim claimed someone filed taxes anc collected a refund in her name.
  • Officers responded to a theft report at Ulta that had occurred over the weekend. The suspect stole mutliple frangrances valued at $840.
  • Police responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at Target. The estimated loss was $613.14.
  • A victim reported that someone had attempted to cash a check in his name with an account numbr that did not exist.
  • Police responded to Best Buy on a report of threats being made to an employee.

March 12

  • Police responded to a domestic on the 600 block of 78th Street East. A male was arrested for violating a protection order.
  • Police responded to a report of two males fighting in a parking lot on the 6600 block of Nicollet Avenue. One had a knife. He was located and arrested.
  • An employee of a business on the 30 block of 66th Street West admited to a theft. The amount of theft was unknown and is under investigation by the business.

March 13

  • Police responded to a disturbance on the 7600 block of 18th Avenue. When officers arrived they found a male who was acting irrationally and appeared to be under the infulence of either alcohol or a controlled substance. He was cited for drug paraphernalia possession and transported to Fairview Southdale Hospital.
  • Police responded to a domestic assault that had just occurred on the 80 block of 77th Street West. The suspect had fled the area and was not located.
  • A phone was reported stolen on the 7400 block of Penn Avenue.
  • Officers responed to a report of a theft from a business on the 6400 block of Penn Avenue. The suspect reportedly backed in his vehicle near the door, went in, selected an item, walked past the checkout clerk and then sped off in the vehicle.
  • Police responded to a burglary report on the 7200 block of Cedar Avenue. A cell phone and papers were reported stolen.
  • Police responded to a domestic on the 7400 block of 17th Avenue. Officers arrived and located narcotics. Two adult males were arrested.
