Inxtoxicated Man With a Gun, Harassment & Counterfeit Bills: Police Blotter

The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its more recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's crime reports from May 6, 2013, detailing incidents from May 1-4.

May 1

  • A Richfield High School staff member found that a counterfeit bill had been used to add money to a lunch account.
  • Police responded to a report of a theft at Home Depot. The suspect reportedly took a drill from the store and then attempted to return it. The return was rejected and the suspect left the store without paying for the drill. The total loss is $149.
  • Police took a report of a 14-year-old female was receiving harassing text messages from a 16-year-old male.
  • A victim reported that her vehicle window was broken and a black leather satchel was stolen.
  • A 43-year-old Richfield man was arrested for fourth-degree DWI, open bottle and carrying a weapon while under the influence of alcohol.

May 2

  • Police responded to a report of a suspect attempting to cash a forged check at Wells Fargo Bank.
  • Police responded to a report of a groupd a juveniles fighting near 66th Strete and Emerson Avenue.
  • Police took a report of Internet fraud.
  • Police responded to a burglary on the 700 block of 78th Street East. The reporting party said he saw two males running out of the apartment building. Three males were located and found in possession of stolen property.

May 3

  • A cab driver was reportedly assaulted by a passenger in a parking lot on the 6600 block of Pleasant Avenue. The male suspect fled prior to police arrival.
  • Police responded to a report of a drunk male causing a disturbance on the 6300 block of 16th Avenue. The male was located, cited for disorderly conduct and transported to the hospital.
  • Four Richfield High School students were involved in a fight after getting off the school bus.
  • Police responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at Sports Authority. The suspect was later arrested for possession of theft tools, giving false information to an officer, shoplifting and an outstanding warrant. He was taken to jail.
  • Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at Target. The party was issued a citation and released.
  • A victim reported taht an unknown person gained access to his locker at LA Fitness and stole his iPhone and two credit cards. There are no suspects.

May 4

  • The assistant manager at Dairy Queen, 2800 66th St. W., reported a laptop was stolen by two suspects.
  • A driver was cited for marijuana possession.
  • Officers responded to a verbal domestic on the 7500 block of Cedar Avenue. Contact was made with the individuals in the apartment. One was found to have an active pick up and hold order from Bloomington police. A Bloomington officer picked him up. Another was cited for giving false information to an officer.
  • Police responded to a burglary on the 6900 block of 18th Avenue. The total loss was $965.
  • A lock on a van parked on the 6700 block of Grand Avenue was reported broken by unknown persons.
  • Police reported purchasing a Kindle off Craig's List, and believed it was stolen.
  • Tools were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 6900 block of 11th Avenue.
  • Police responded to Target on a report of a juvenile shoplifter in custody. The juvenile was cited.
  • Police took a report of a vehicle's door handle being damaged. Nothing appeared to be taken.
