The Richfield Public Safety Department releases its most recent crime reports.

All the following information was taken from the Richfield Public Safety Department's crime reports from March 28, 2013, detailing incidents from March 24-27.

March 24

  • A 21-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for fourth-degree DUI and open container.
  • A 40-year-old Burnsville man was arrested for third-degree DWI.
  • Police responded to a domestic at Motel 6. A 20-year-old man was arrested for felony strangulation, interfering with a 911 call and on an outstanding warrant.
  • Police responded to Fairview Southdale Hospital on a report of a sexual assault that happened overnight.
  • Police responded to a welfare check on a female on the 6700 block of 11th Avenue. Police found a protection order had been violated.

March 25

  • Police responded to Target on a report of a theft that occurred in August 2012. The individual was seen in the store and also identified as the same suspect who was arrested at a St. Paul Target.
  • A victim reported an uknown person had been using her name to apply for credit cards.
  • Police responded to a shoplifting report at Best Buy.
  • A victim reported that unknown person had possibly been stealing her mail.
  • A 36-year-old Richfield man was arrested for cocaine possession, open bottle, third-degree DWI and an outstanding warrant.
  • Police responded to a report of a vehicle that had been scratched on the 7700 block of Bloomington. The value of the damage wasn't known.
  • Super America, 826 W. 66th St., reported a gas theft of $80.24.
  • A 47-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for possession of burglary tools.

March 26

  • A cell phone was reported stolen.
  • Officer took a report of identity theft.
  • Tools valued at $2,250 were reported stolen from a work van parked on the 7700 block of Penn Avenue.
  • Police responded to a scam report that happened via Craig's List.
  • A driver was stopped for traffic offenses and subsequently arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • Police responded to a noise complaint on the corner of 74th Street and Xerxes Avenue where a vehicle was playing music loudly. A passenger in the vehicle was cited for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, and underage liquor consumption. Other passengers also received various citations.

March 27

  • A victim reported that $200 in cash and his credit cards were stolen from his wallet, which was in a locked locker at LA Fitness. Approximately $425 in charges appeared on the card.
  • Police responded to a traffic accident on the corner of 68th Street and Lyndale Avenue. A driver was arrested for fourth-degree DWI.
  • Police responded to a shoplifter in custody at a business on the 100 block of 66th Street West.
  • Police responded to a domestic on the 6400 block of Logan Avenue. An adult male was arrested.
