Dispatch Switch: Edina Police Chief 'Excited to Serve Richfield'
The City of Richfield sought another agency to handle 911 calls and selected Edina, whose city council considered the deal Tuesday.
The City of Edina will take over emergency dispatch duties from Richfield, Edina Police Chief Jeff Long announced on Twitter Tuesday:
"Edina City Council approved the contract to dispatch for Richfield. Excited to serve the Richfield residents, businesses & visitors."
Earlier, Long wrote they were "looking at a Dec 1st start."
