Richfield Girl Scouts Raise Money for Minnesota Raptor Center

Richfield Dual Language School, second-grade Girl Scouts raise $100 for the Minnesota Raptor Center.

For their annual service project, the second grade Brownie Girl Scout Troop 14355 decided to show their love for the birds by hosting a Valentine's Day HEARTS and CRAFTS fair to raise money for the Minnesota Raptor Center.

On Sunday, Feb. 12, the girls invited friends and family members to a Valentine's Day event that included craft making, face painting, a coloring contest, and a sweetheart photograph to remember the day. A donation of $5 per child was suggested, resulting in a collection of $100.

Fun was had by all and the group was delighted to donate the funds in person to the center on Friday, Feb. 17. The girls enjoyed an educational tour of the Raptor Center and learned all about the amazing and beautiful creatures who are either sick, injured, or healing within the safety of the center.

Richfield is incredibly blessed to have this great group of girls with such big hearts and involved parents who support the kindness and generosity of their daughters, not to mention the blessings of the Raptor Center with its dedicated staff, volunteers, and donors. The Raptor Center has many programs for groups such as scouts with tons of information found on this page.

Mark your calendars:  On May 5 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. there will be a Raptor Release event at the Hyland Park Reserve in Bloomington.
