Twin Cities Popeyes Restaurants Donate Turkeys to Food Shelf

Fifty-six cajun turkeys were donated to Second Harvest Heartland for holiday distribution.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurants in Minnesota are giving back this holiday season.

The 12 local locations, including the one in Richfield, donated 56 cajun turkeys to Second Harvest Heartland, according to a company press release. Second Harvest Heartland will distribute the turkeys to its two partner agencies, Groveland Emergency Food Shelf in Minneapolis and Hallie Q. Brown Food Shelf in St. Paul:

"Hallie Q. Brown Food Shelf will include the Cajun Turkeys in gift baskets that also contain stuffing and various vegetables to St. Paul community residents for the holidays. Groveland Emergency Food Shelf will allow its visitors to choose their food items to bring home, maximizing food distribution and minimizing food waste."

Richfield's Popeyes restaurant is located at 220 W. 66th St. at the Hub Shopping Center.
