Hennepin County Library – Augsburg Park, 7100 Nicollet Ave., Richfield, will close for building upgrades Sunday, August 11, 2013, at 5 p.m. The library is scheduled to re-open Monday, September 16, 2013.
During the closure, Augsburg Park Library patrons are encouraged to visit nearby Hennepin County libraries including Southdale Library, 7001 York Ave. S., Edina, Washburn Library, 5244 Lyndale Ave. S., Minneapolis, and Oxboro Library, 8801 Portland Ave. S., Bloomington.
Patrons who face a barrier to using a nearby library may contact the Library’s At Home service at 612-543-8850.

Patron requests with Augsburg Park Library as the pickup location will change to Southdale Library automatically. Patrons may choose an alternate pickup location through “My Account” at www.hclib.org. For help, patrons may contact staff at any Hennepin County Library location or online via the Library’s Ask Us service.
The pickup location for any requests not filled during the closure will change back to Augsburg Park Library automatically when the library re-opens.

Work on Augsburg Park Library will include HVAC and electrical panel upgrades. New carpeting will be installed along with additional computers and new chairs, tables and book bins. Existing library shelving will be reoriented to let in more natural light. The library’s service and information desks will be consolidated into a single desk for patron service.
Hennepin County Library is also working with the Minnesota Children’s Museum on a separate project to create a new dedicated space for children and families at Augsburg Park Library. The library’s Family Play and Learn Spot will open later this fall, with a celebration to follow.
