One Year Down—Many More to Come

Richfield Patch officially turns one year old at 6 a.m. Thursday.

When I was first offered the opportunity to create Richfield Patch for the community I thought, "Richfield? Really? What's happening here?"

, I seemed to be a bit jaded to all the town offered. I dug around a little bit and found a plethora of happenings around the city. Then I thought, "Can I do it?"

Once the interview process ended and I was asked to make my final decision on the town I would cover, without hesitation, I chose Richfield. Because I thought, "Who better than me to do this me. This is my town."

As it turns out, it was one of the best decisions I'd ever made. Not many people are able to make a career doing something they love, while also giving back to the community that produced them.

The best thing? Richfield Patch is a resource created for the community by the community, which is exactly what the goal of Patch is. While I may write many of the articles, it's the readers who share their thoughts, engage in dialogue, send news tips and give their support who keep it going.

Cheers and here's to many more years working together to inform the community. Thank you for letting Richfield Patch invade your laptops, PCs and smartphones.

Congratulations, Caitlin! The Richfield Patch is THE place to go for local news and events ... and nearly in real time. The many local organizations I work with really appreciate your interest, promotion and coverage of our events. Providing the opportunity to comment on articles (and other's opinions) is also appreciated.

Being a photographer for the Richfield Patch has given me insight to my community that I would have not otherwise had. I really enjoy covering local community events and it's has given me a closer connection to the town I am proud to call home!

The Richfield Patch brings to light ideas, events, personalities.and places that help me grow in appreciation for our little gem of a community. Items that go unreported, or are difficult to discover, like the profiles of the school board candidates, great little businesses, and local current events or topics of discussion are right here. The Patch helps to give breadth, color, and depth to our town. THANKS!

Thank you for all the kind words. As I said, this site is a reflection of a whole community's efforts. Keep the tips coming and the discussions going.
