I've been adopted!

Hi everyone, Maggie here. I've been meaning to write you to tell you all about my holidays, but there's bigger news! I've been adopted!
Tom told me about it earlier this week and there's been much to do to get ready for my new home. I'll be moving to Bloomington, so I had to get all my toys together and bones dug up out of the backyard snows. One more night with Tom and Shawn and then I'll be on my way to my new home in the morning!
I was really hoping this family would adopt me. Tom and I went to visit them last Saturday and it was great. They have this very comfortable home with a backyard I can run around in as much as I want. I was even told that I can sleep on the couches and beds as much as I'd like! It's going to be just like at Tom and Shawn's.
The best part is, I'll have a new best friend -- Hank. Hank is also a former rescue dog who has been living with this family for over six years. He told me that they are very nice people and I'll never want for anything. We even get hamburger and rice for dinner!
It feels like forever ago that I was so cold and lonely at the shelter. I know I was so very close to being put to sleep and remember that feeling that nobody out there loved me. But it is so different now! I know I'll have a long and happy life full of love, fun and yummy food! I can't wait to snuggle up in my new home tomorrow, knowing that it is my last stop and that I've arrived in my new life.
That said, I'm making the most of this week. I've been cuddling up with Tom every chance I get, as well as climbing all over Shawn when she comes home at night. It's going to be a bittersweet day tomorrow, but I can't believe how lucky I've been. I think I'll still get to see Tom and Shawn at the dog park every now and then.
I'll try to check in from time-to-time if I can. But I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone at Safe Hands Rescue for helping me find my forever home! I know there's so many dogs out there who have not been as fortunate as I have been and I will be eternally grateful!

Love,

Maggie
